🙂 = It was easy to find and the park lot was spacious. Restaurant felt bright and spacious as we walked in – décor is very friendly and charming. They had boosters and highchairs as well as a changing station in both restrooms. There is a children’s menu available. The patio is pet friendly (!) which is a plus for us. Let’s not forget that on Mondays, kids meals are $1 with purchase of regular entrée! There is also a huge chalk board for the kiddos to stay busy.
🙁 = Food Orders are placed at the counter. So the logistics between seating and ordering can get complicated, and kiddos may have to be left to their own devices in order to get everything situated. Although the décor is spot on with the theme, there are displays that are eye level and sometimes have objects that are fragile and/or pointy.
Notes: They are open Monday through Friday from 11:00AM to 9:00PM. On Saturday, they open at 9:00AM and close at 9:00PM, and on Sunday, they open at 9:00AM and close early on 3:00PM.
So let me start off by saying – Greenhouse Craft Food has a huuuuge chalkboard and I loved it! I got to draw and color and play with other kids before and after my meal! But I think if there’s anything I like better than the chalkboard at Greenhouse, it’s the food! I always feel like eating here is a treat because it’s really yummy and, well, maybe because Mom orders me the Mac & Cheese with fruit…hehe… As I like to say, “it’s DEEE-LI-CIOUS!” And you know what else? Well, as a toddler, I spill my drink sometimes, so I was happy to see that they had a colorful kid’s cup with a lid – just for me!
We ordered some appetizers that were like potato chips. They were called the “Chips and Dip.” They were house-made chips that crunchy, crispy and they came with a creamy Sweet Texas Onion dip. Once the food came, everyone got real quiet. As usual. Mommy was busy eating her chili and Dad ate the same sandwich he always eats – the Greenhouse Special! This sandwich is served on sourdough bread with uncured bacon, baby greens, local tomatoes, fried farmhouse egg, mayo, AND jalapeño maple jelly. He says he especially loves the fried egg! Truth be told… We all love to sneak a bite from him when he’s not looking.
Mommy also ordered the Shrimp Boat Hoagie that was filled with lightly fried Gulf Shrimp, tomato, lemon horseradish aioli, and slaw. It absolutely hit the spot! She said that she could eat a big bowl of the shrimp just by itself! It was THAT good. We definitely enjoyed our time at Greenhouse Craft Food. Maybe you can come eat with me next time? There’s something for everyone so I’m sure you’ll find something you like too! 🙂
