My mommy and Daddy are major sushi lovers so it was only a matter of time until we made a visit to Origami Japanese Cuisine. As soon as we walked in, we were happily greeted by the hostess and were sat immediately. Although they did not have any highchairs, they did have a nice booster seat for me. The kids’ menu also had some very yummy options.
In no time, we were able to order our drinks, daddy got a Japanese beer called Sapporo. He said it was a fantastic medium bodied beer. It came in a really BIG bottle. Mommy and everyone else at the table just got water and sodas.
Next, it was time to order our food, mommy ordered me a beef appetizer (Negimaki) and some white rice, which are two of my favorite things. My sisters got crab sushi rolls and a Philadelphia roll, and their friend got teriyaki chicken with fried rice. My mommy and daddy got tuna nigiri, scallop sashimi, unagi nigiri, yellow tail nigiri, shrimp nigiri, monkfish sashimi. We also got some fried octopus, and my mommy’s favorite… sushi pizza, which is made with crab, mozzarella cheese and seaweed, then baked.
For those that are not into eating raw fish, they have a great menu to choose from with freshly cooked meats 🙂 When the food came, everything looked so colorful and pretty. I loved my beef and rice… and the meat was drizzled with a tasty teriyaki sauce that made it even more yummy.
Everyone was very pleased with their food and thought it was fresh and absolutely delicious. The fish was cut to perfection – not too big and not too small. My daddy said there was just enough rice and wasabi on the nigiri to make each bite a perfect one. The sushi pizza was quite tasty and very cheesy according to my mommy. My mommy and daddy also said the scallops were so delicate and fresh with just the right amount of wasabi mayo to add more yummy flavor. They enjoyed every bite! They especially loved the fried octopus! It had the right amount of breading to give it the perfect crisp.
The one man sushi chef knew exactly what he was doing, and all the pretty ladies that worked there were dressed in very elegant traditional kimonos, which gave the dining experience an even more authentic Japanese vibe.
Reservations are recommended for Fridays and Saturdays. Overall, the food was all made to perfection, and the staff was professional and friendly. My mommy and daddy said they cannot wait to come back and enjoy the authentic sushi and great service again!
