🙂 = Fast service, great kids’ menu with crayons for the little artists, several kid dishes to choose from. Bread given while you wait for your food.

🙁 = Not-so-friendly staff…

Daddy was in the mood for a steak. So, we decided to try out a Portland steakhouse: Texas A1 Steaks & Seafood.  When we walked in, we had to wait a long time for someone just to say hi; mommy didn’t like that very much. The hostess finally acknowledged us and showed us to our table. I was very happy to be able to sit in my high chair and look at the fun kids’ menu. Mommy and I colored some of the fun pictures while we waited to order our drinks and food.

BREAD!!!

Mommy liked that there were more than a couple of different options for me to choose from. I told her I wanted spaghetti… I like to play with the noodles and love the yummy tomato sauce it comes with. Mommy ordered a ribeye, medium rare, with a salad and the house veggies, which was broccoli. Daddy ordered a ribeye steak, medium rare, as well with a salad and French fries. After we ordered our dinner, the waitress brought us some fresh rolls with butter. Thank goodness, because I was HUNGRY, plus I love bread. 🙂

When the food arrived, I was excited to get my spaghetti! Mommy cut it up for me and made sure it wasn’t too hot. I took one bite and love-loved it! Mommy and daddy thought the salad was a little odd because there was water at the bottom of their bowls, but they did think their steaks were cooked just right. Mommy thought there could have been a little more flavoring to the meat, but other than that it was tender and hit the spot. Daddy really enjoyed his french fries and thought they were perfectly cooked steak fries. Mommy kept stealing them off of daddy’s plate… I guess she really liked them too. Mommy said her broccoli was perfectly cooked and flavored. She ate all of it!

Steak! Yum!

We had to wait a while for the waitress to come back so we could get our check. Daddy thought it was strange our waitress didn’t come around for a while. We got to pay for our meal and take the rest of my spaghetti home because there was so much. That made me happy because that meant I would be eating it again very soon! Mommy and daddy enjoyed their meals but thought the service could have been a little better. I think we will be back, but it won’t be at the top of our list for restaurant choices.
