🙂 =  Behind the restaurant, you’ll find a large dirt parking lot able to accommodate most busy nights.  There is a children’s menu, though it doesn’t have many options.  Indoor and outdoor seating is available and they have live music every night on the patio as long as the weather isn’t bad.  Plenty of high chairs are available, and there is a changing table in the women’s restroom. There’s a playground located in the front of the restaurant!

🙁 = No kid’s eat free options.  It’s a very popular restaurant, so it gets pretty busy and you may have to wait a little while before being seated.  If you go on a weekend, it can be very loud inside, so it can be a little hard to hear anyone at your table.

Notes: There is a playground for the kiddos to enjoy, but they do not serve food to tables located in that area. There are a handful of picnic tables available. Keep that in mind if your little still requires a lot of supervision. Also, the playground is located near the parking lot. So, you may want to be in arm’s reach especially if your toddler is curious like me!

Hours: Mon-Thursday: 11 a.m. – 10 p.m. Friday: 11 a.m. – 11 p.m. Saturday: 9 a.m. – 11 p.m. Sunday: 9 a.m. – 10 p.m.

Mommy had a hankering for Mexican food the other day, and one of her friends suggested a lunch date at La Hacienda de Los Barrios. I had been here once before, and I remember noticing that this place was featured on the Food Network! If you know who Bobby Flay is, you know he’s a pretty big name in the food and restaurant industry.  He used to have a show called Throwdown with Bobby Flay, and La Hacienda was featured on it for their puffy tacos, and the resident chef even beat Bobby Flay in one-on-one-puffy-taco throwdown!  If this local restaurant can beat an Iron Chef, we just HAD to highlight its yummy goodness!

The Fajita Tacos that Mommy could NOT stop talking about!

We went during an off-peak time. So, the restaurant wasn’t busy at all. We were seated quickly and were greeted with chips and salsa to munch on while we browsed through the menu. The salsa was a bit spicy for my toddler tastebuds, but the chips were addictive… I had to stop myself because I knew delectable yumminess was on its way! The server was very attentive and even made sure to bring out my milk in a styrofoam cup with a lid (we know that this is a MUST for toddler foodies!). While there were highchairs available, mommy decided to let me sit in a “big girl” chair… What can I say? I’m moving on up in this world! #SCORE

My “Big Girl” Meal!

The menu was extensive! There was a regular menu, a kids’ menu, and lunch specials menu still available. After browsing through the kids’ menu, I decided that I was hankering for something more substantial. So, mommy let me order from the “regular menu.” I decided on the Taquito Plate, which came with two flour tortilla tacos filled with your choose of combination. Bacon and Egg and Bean and Cheese were my go-to’s. Mommy went with the Beef Fajita Taco plate from the lunch special menu. The portions were HUGE. We could have easily shared a plate and still walked away with VERY full bellies. Mommy was a little disappointed that my plate didn’t come some side options, but she was very satisfied with her tacos. She couldn’t stop raving about the flavor of the meat and how it was just cooked to perfection… what ever that means…

Playground, anyone???

I just scarfed down what I could because out of the corner of my eye I caught a glimpse of an oh-so-glorious PLAYGROUND! It was located in the front corner of the restaurant, but I heard that food isn’t served in that section. So, my fellow toddler foodie and I had to eat quick if we wanted to play. Mommy and her friends did the same so they could keep an eye on us while we played. (We’re still too little to be left unattended. Mommy was also concerned that it was close to the parking lot, and she didn’t want me wandering somewhere I didn’t need to….)

Overall, La Hacienda had some scrumptious food, friendly staff, and great onsite amenities that toddler like me would enjoy. We had a blast, and mommy said that she’ll definitely be back for those Fajita Tacos! She’s so silly!!!
