- Private Lot
🙂 = High chairs and booster seats on hand, kids menu, kid-friendly main menu, beautiful scenery, waterfront restaurant, plenty of space to play, great service.
🙁 = No changing tables and the unpaved overflow parking lot can get messy when it rains.
Notes: Open Sunday – Thursday 11am – 10pm Friday & Saturday 11am – 12am.
As soon as we turned into the parking lot, I started clapping. I knew pretty white sand and a huge tiki hut (bar) were a sign of the good time we were gonna have at Tarpon Pointe. The scenery was breathtaking even on a dreary summer day. The breeze from the water also meant the Florida heat remained at comfortable levels.
While we waited on our order, I enjoyed creating Nana’s first fridge masterpiece with the activity sheet and crayons. They had a kids’ menu on the activity sheet, but after I saw mommy’s delicious looking Hawaiian Rice bowl, I pushed my mini corn dogs and french fries to the side and shared with her. The bowl had rice, pineapples, shredded beef, and plantains. It was all covered in a delicious sauce.
The restaurant does not have windows or doors so the views are uninterrupted. Trust me, you will want to pause and take it all in. While you munch on some goodies, you can admire the vast ocean views from all sides.
After you finish your meal, there is no rush to head back home because there is plenty to do even for Toddler Foodies. To say there is plenty of room to run around and play is an understatement! There are stations for corn hole and volleyball and a large sand-filled area for pets.
Keep in mind the overflow parking lot is unpaved. So, if it is during our rainy season, getting to the main building can turn into a fun game of “hop-over-the-puddles.” Also, it is pretty close to the hospital. So, you may hear an occasional ambulance siren.
Our server, Renee, was especially attentive. She deserves 5 stars all by herself! Go see her and tell her The Toddler Foodies sent ya!
After our meal, we took some time to roam around in the sand, admire the scenery, and chase a few birdies. For the adult foodies, there is a fully stocked (hard to miss) tiki bar with lots of drink specials. You can see the menu here. They have happy hour Monday-Friday from 3pm-6pm. A little birdie also told us sometimes they have live music! There’s a pier as well, but we didn’t walk on it for several reasons.
Tarpon Pointe is definitely an experience I could stand to have again! We would have given them 5 stars, but the bathroom we used didn’t have a changing table (they have 2 individual stalls). What a wonderful way to end the first leg of my summer vacation!
